About AIMS South Africa
We are a team of dedicated professionals committed to advancing education and opportunity in the mathematical sciences across Africa.
Who we are?
The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is Africa’s first network of centres of excellence focused on the mathematical sciences. AIMS South Africa, located in Cape Town, was founded in 2003 through partnerships between leading South African and international universities, bringing together students and researchers from across the continent today.
Our Mission
AIMS South Africa aims to advance the mathematical sciences in Africa by developing scientific talent and supporting innovative research that addresses real-world challenges.
Through postgraduate training, research collaboration, and public engagement, AIMS South Africa works to strengthen the STEM ecosystem and inspire more young Africans to pursue careers in science and technology.
