Student Life at AIMS

The summer break at AIMS offered students an opportunity to relax, connect, and explore new experiences through a range of activities organised by the Cultural Club and in collaboration with other student clubs.

Cultural Discovery

Students had the chance to learn more about the cultures of Uganda, Benin, and Ethiopia through engaging narrative presentations by colleagues from those countries. These sessions offered a space to celebrate diversity and share traditions, with more cultural discoveries planned in the weeks ahead.

Karaoke Evening

An evening of music and laughter brought students together for a relaxed karaoke night, where everyone enjoyed listening to the wide range of musical tastes represented in the AIMS community.

Movie Night

Students gathered for a movie night featuring the Nigerian film Breath of Life, exploring themes of human connection through the story of Elisha and Timi. The evening was made even more enjoyable with popcorn and soft drinks shared among friends.

Scavenger Hunt

In collaboration with other student clubs, participants put their problem-solving and teamwork skills to the test in a scavenger hunt that took them across Muizenberg Beach, Zandvlei Park, St James, and Boyes Drive. Congratulations to Mannondé and Biruk, whose team emerged victorious after successfully deciphering the clues.

Hiking Adventure

Students also ventured into nature with a hike in the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch. The journey tested resilience and teamwork as participants made their way to the Eerste and Tweede waterfalls, enjoying the beauty of the landscape along the way.

These activities reflect the vibrant student life at AIMS, where learning extends beyond the classroom through shared experiences, cultural exchange, and exploration.
