Herimampionona (Herimam) Andrinaina is a PhD student in Reinforcement Learning, enrolled at Stellenbosch University and Coventry University as part of a joint Doctoral degree program.
He completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics Education at Ecole Normale Supérieure d’Antananarivo, and was selected for the first Google DeepMind AI fully funded Master’s cohort at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) South Africa in 2023.
His interests include board games, game theory, and reinforcement learning, with a particular focus on search and planning methods, such as Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS).
In addition to research, he is an amateur musician, often found somewhere quiet with an instrument in hand.
